Welcome to GEMS (Geographic Exploration and Mining Services), the interactive GIS mapping application.
To use this application please have internet web browser pop-up blockers disabled.
GEMS is a free, web-based GIS mapping tool, built around the ESRI ArcIMS software, that allows users to access a variety of geographic data sets held by the Department. Users can utilise GEMS to perform a number of tasks including:
- Creating their own customisable maps using a wide range of GIS layers (e.g. permit, mineral deposit and geological data).
- Printing out maps and associated tabular information.
- Interactively querying and interrogating EMD's geospatial databases (e.g. boreholes and mineral deposits).
